[edit] Points in Favor

The building of this facilty will bring in a lot of revenus for the city with the potential of National and international tournaments (except these tournaments already exist - they will not be newly created). It will benefit 3000 players from youth through adult in both recreational and competitive soccer.

Money spent on the community will benefit the community - making space for kids to learn athletic and social skills through team sports helps build better citizens. Kids have little or no structured play at school, this is a resource Lexington can be proud of.

[edit] Points in Opposition

A better planned, larger and all inclusive facility would be more advisable. This facility benefits a single, private entity to the exclusion of other leagues and the public at large, and was created in a desperate attempt to replace fields lost to the Equestrian Games (another issue altogether). Think bigger, broader and more inclusive with 8 million federal dollars.
