Veloway, is an urban bike-share business developed by Veolia Transport.

Basically it provides an automated bike rental system. Bike docking stations are strategically located throughout urban areas. Users can then rent a bike with a credit card or a subscription card, use the bike as needed, then return it to any docking station when finished.

This will never work in New Orleans. Why throw away good money? I mean, they're counting on people to actually return the bikes? Give me a break. I will bet the bikes will be all stolen within the first year.

So what else do we get for the 2.5 million? One hundred bikes for 2.5 million? That comes out to 25k per bike. I also do not think the idea will work in New Orleans but I would at least hope that the docking stations and all other related equipment plus the cost of installation is included in the 2.5 million.
