[edit] General Description
This intersection in its current configuration poses a major risk to pedestrians and vehicles alike. With its lack of curbs or crosswalks, awkward configuration, and the extreme speed of outbound traffic exiting Franklin onto Linwood, it is a very dangerous situation. The community has lobbied for five years to have this intersection altered to provide a safe environment for both pedestrians and drivers, with the support of the block club, surrounding residences and businesses, the City, and Councilmembers Rivera and LoCurto. Three years ago, partial funding was approved, and in 2009 the City is supporting full funding. This is a critical project that the entire community strongly endorses.
