[edit] Points in Favor

This project has been delayed several times. First, Florida grappled with several hurricanes during the past few years. Second, the governor & legislature grappled with finding funds to re-vamp Florida insurance laws and property tax laws. Now, there's no money anywhere so the project is on semi-permanent hold. This project will properly divert on Ocean Beach Blvd (on the ocean) sea water (tidal surge during tropical storms), rain water (the last tropical storm dropped 26 inches), and sewage from the Banana and Indian Rivers (both located adjacent to our narrow barrier penninsula).
