[edit] Points in Favor
Concord NC offers one of the best aircraft operational areas in the state. With the control tower, this safe airport is home to most NASCAR team aircraft and many private aircraft owners. Runway improvements mean safer operations for what has become a critical alternative to Charlotte-Douglas airport for many. Runway improvements could bring future air taxi services that offer a low-cost alternative for business travelers.
The "larger" aircraft are owned by NASCAR teams only and will NOT be regional passenger jets. Large volume passenger service will remain at CLT. By allowing the larger NASCAR team jets to operate out of JQF (Concord) means more fuel sales and services and thus more tax revenue and aircraft maintenance jobs.
[edit] Points Against
Larger aircraft are indended for Charlote International not a regional airport.
