Wiki Description

[edit] General Description

This project consists of the first phase of a project to directly link the existing White Rock Lake and White Rock Creek trail systems to downtown Dallas using old railroad right of way. Phase 1 would extend from the end of the existing veloway trail near the White Rock Lake spillway to Woodrow Wilson High School and Long Middle School. The recently demolished RR bridge over Garland Rd. would be rebuilt as a pedestrian/bike bridge. The future phase 2 would link to downtown Dallas and a DART rail station. This project is designed to link high density population areas in Dallas through a series of bike/jogging trails. That would allow commuter and recreational transit while avoiding automobile traffic.
