Wiki Description

[edit] General Description

Fire Station 39 will be the fifth City of Folsom fire station and serve the north/east portion of the City, as well as portions of El Dorado Hills. This station will close a response performance gap currently being served primarily by crews from Fire Stations 37 on Clarksville Road and 38 on Blue Ravine Road at Oak Avenue Parkway.

The fire station will sit on the 7.5 acre Park Site 52 located on Empire Ranch Road at Ritchie Street. The fire station and its grounds comprise approximately 1.02 acres of the park site. The structure is being designed as an essential services building and will be a two-story block and wood frame structure, 10,500 sq. ft. in size. The station is being planned as a phased cooperative project of the Fire Department and the Parks and Recreation Department.

The City of Folsom Fire Department is an “all risk” emergency response agency and the capabilities of this new fire station support that mission perspective. The station will be staffed with a crew of three, but can house up to six firefighters. Its apparatus compliment will include a Type I structural fire engine, an “In Service Reserve Medic” (ISRM), and either a Type III grass engine or a 2,200 gallon water tender. This equipment will be cross-staffed by the three-person crew.
