we need more hotel

A hotel would create jobs. However, how much residual income would be produced, and would this help or hurt other competition? Harrisburg has over fifty hotels. Is it critical that they have two more? There is such a need in Harrisburg with its overrun crime and poverty. Yet there is little stimulus money going toward these issues. The chairman (Randy King) of the Hershey Regional Visitors Bureau said that we should “temporarily stop building hotels in the midstate.” This is due to the Occupancy and revenue rates being at a tremendous low. All this says a lot considering Hershey is the tourist area of Pa. Fancy Hotels may make Mayor Stephen R. Reed happy and give politicians a nice place to stay, but it does little for the community and long term economic gain.
